A night under the stars
If you’re thinking of joining us for our overnight experiences, there are a couple of options awaiting you:
|Partner with a Scout or Explorer group already at Durham 2020
This is by far the simplest option and the one we’re recommending. Your partner group can save you some space on their campsite, setup your tents, welcome you to camp and arrange your catering. And because they have been their for a few days, they’ll be able to point you in the right direction if you have any questions.
We’ll allocate you some space within one of our sub camps and you’re then free to setup your tents and camp independently. We don’t recommend this option unless you’re an experience camper. You can setup your campsite between Wednesday 29th July and Saturday 1st August, and take down your campsite on Saturday 8th August.
And here’s some detailed information about how it’ll work:
- Setting up your campsite – you can setup your campsite between Wednesday 29th July and Saturday 1st August, and take down your campsite on Saturday 8th August. Until Friday 31st July at midday, you’ll be able to take your vehicles directly to your sub camps. After this time, there will be restricted vehicle access of one vehicle per group.
- The night before – so that you can settle in, leaders of groups are can camp on-site the night before their day visitor experience starts.
- Your groups arrival – to avoid your group having to carry their personal kit to your campsite, we’re offering a bag drop system. You’ll be send two luggage labels for every member of your group – simply, drop your bags at the bag drop and they’ll make their way to your sub camp HQ by the end of the day. On your departure, we’ll help you with large bags if needed.
Our packages for Beavers are great value. Don’t forget, your group may add additional charges such as food and transport to these prices.
